Tuition and Scholarship Information for 2019-2020

                                                                                                                                February 4, 2019

Dear Parents,

The years a child spends at Trinity are foundational years for life.  We want to help provide a strong academic base for our students so they are prepared to take on the rigors of the next level of their education.  We are providing an exceptional learning experience for our students, and we will continue to do so.

To help ensure Trinity maintains its quality academic program, tuition will be $4900 for the 2019-2020 school year.  This is $11.11 more per week; $2.22 more per day than this year; 33 cents more per hour than the cost of tuition for the present school year.  Trinity’s tuition rates remain the lowest in the Cedar Rapids metropolitan area.

Our faculty consists of top notch teachers whose base salary is not even $30,000 per year.  This is just over 80% of what our church body, specifically, Iowa District East recommends.  (The low base salary for public teachers in Cedar Rapids is $46,611.)*

While the cost of tuition increases, we are dedicated to making it affordable for families who need assistance:

  • Trinity Lutheran Church members receive a $1000 deduction per child to offset Kindergarten – 8th Grade tuition costs.
  • Tuition assistance is also available through some of our area churches. Please communicate with your church.
  • Iowa Lutheran Schools Tuition Organization (ILSTO) and Trinity scholarships are great ways to subsidize tuition costs. These require applications which are available in the school office.
  • If overall costs of tuition, fees, and lunches are still prohibitive after the funding resources above, please contact the school office to discuss options.

We, at Trinity Lutheran School care about your children and we believe that our Christian environment is a great place for them to grow and develop spiritually, emotionally, socially, physically and academically.  It is our hope and prayer that your student will graduate from Trinity as an eighth grader and thus have a complete Trinity experience.  We want you and your child to continue to be a part of the Trinity community in the caring and safe environment TLS provides.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for entrusting your child to us.

Together in Christ Centered Education,

Mark Mueller

Principal
