Social Media Presentation by CRPD

October 23, 2018

Dear Parents,

Are you completely aware of how your child is using his/her electronic devices?

Join us for a presentation by Cedar Rapids Department Police officer, Charity Hansel, on the use of social media and the internet by young people.  Officer Hansel will give her presentation in the church basement Wednesday, November 7 from 5:45 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.  It will be geared towards parents.

Officer Hansel is presently the School Resource Officer at Kennedy High School.  Previous to that she served on the CRPD’s sex crime investigative unit. Officer Hansel was at Trinity last week to speak with our seventh and eighth grade students on the potential pitfalls of using social media and the internet inappropriately.  She gave an excellent presentation that was very informative.

It will be worth an hour of your time to hear what Officer Hansel has to say regarding young people’s use of social media.

Free child care will be provided in the Extended Care room beginning at 5:30 that evening.  Please let Stephanie Jemtrud know if you intend to make use of the child care.  Stephanie can be reached at 362-6952 ext. 235 or at
