After a year of working on this project, our Preschool and Child Care students finally have a suitable playground! We are so thankful to our families here at Trinity who supported this project.
Fundraising began last fall and, by April of 2018, we were able to purchase the playground set. I thought raising the money would be the hard part. We had TREMENDOUS support from our Trinity community. Delays in shipping, conflicting events and constant weather delays made it difficult to complete the last leg of our project: installation! It seemed as though we just could not catch a break.
At the beginning of last week I checked the weather and it looked like we had a few nice days. I was not sure how many people would be able to help out on such short notice, but I knew it was now or never. After talking to family about the installation project, my sister and oldest brother offered to help me. With their support, we were able to get the playground in place last Friday. Woodchips arrived Monday and now the playground is ready to go!
When we were collecting donations I had a few families make their donation in memory of a loved one. We will be recognizing these family members with a stone that will be placed in the garden. If you are interested in purchasing a garden stone for a family member or friend please contact me.
Thank you to every single one of you for donating and supporting this big project! And a special thank you to the Arends family for purchasing the bags of concrete and to Home Depot for taking $25 off the cost for us!
We are SO thrilled to be able to say “LET’S PLAY!” and look forward to sharing pictures of the kids enjoying the new structure in the upcoming days!
