Spring Operetta- Hans Bronson’s Gold Medal Mission

Posted on: April 2nd, 2019 by Lisa Galvin | No Comments
Our spring operetta is only a few weeks away! Please be sure that your calendar is marked for Thursday, May 2…operetta day! There are two performances that day: a matinee at 1:30 p.m. and an evening performance at 6:30 p.m. Both performances are in the gym. There is no admission charge, but a freewill offering will be taken to cover production costs this year and in the future. Your financial support is appreciated.

The title of this year’s operetta is Hans Bronson’s Gold Medal Mission. It is a sports-themed production with much humor and an important Christian message. The chorus plays a key role in the operetta, and all students in grades 4-7 are in the chorus. Please also note that the operetta is a required choir event for all students in grades 4-8.

Chorus members (grades 4-7) need to obtain a clean, white t-shirt with crew neck and short sleeves. No writing or graphics. This t-shirt will be worn with khaki shorts and tennis shoes. To personalize, students are to also obtain/wear a sports headband of their choosing. If they want to add sports wrist band(s) they may, but the wristband(s) is/are optional.

Additional costume items for the chorus will be provided at school. Students need to bring their t-shirt, shorts, headband, and shoes to school on Monday, April 29. Please have your student put his/her name on all items! They look alike! April 29 is the beginning of operetta production week. We will rehearse the full show every afternoon Monday-Wednesday of that week leading up to the Thursday performance.

Thank you for your assistance with our production and have a great spring break!
