Masterpieces

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not from yourselves. It is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one may boast. We are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Eph. 2:8-10

We are God’s masterpieces. God made each one of us just the way we are because He wanted some one just like us. That makes each one of us very special. Not only did God create each one of us, He has special things He wants to accomplish through each one of us.

In the Old Testament of the Bible, we find out that the work God had prepared for Nehemiah to do was to rebuild the wall around the city of Jerusalem. Chapter 3 of the book of Nehemiah consists of thirty-two verses that lists the people who were involved in the rebuilding of the wall. In listing all these names it tells who each person worked next to and it also clearly points out which section of the wall each person or group of people worked on.

Each one of us has a “section” in our church and school to work on, and this work will best be done when we work next to each other. We need all of us.

Things are on the upswing in our school and we are headed in a very positive direction. Faculty and staff, school board members, and parents are all working next to each other on our respective sections of the wall. God is blessing us; what a masterpiece we will have!

Welcome to Donna Quick, our new fourth grade teacher. Donna is from Wichita, Kansas where she taught at Holy Cross Lutheran School for thirty years. It has already been great to work next to her.
