We Need YOUR Help to Access the Thrivent Matching Fund Program

Thank you to all of you who have made contributions to Trinity Lutheran School and have taken advantage of Thrivent’s GivingPlus Program.  What savvy stewards you are to increase your giving by 50% with no cost to you!  Thrivent has made some recent changes to the GivingPlus Program  — Read on!

Recent Changes to The GivingPlus Program

R        Thrivent will now match gifts up to a total of $600 per year (previously $400).

R        Thrivent members are no longer limited to one gift per year per institution; you can spread your gift over as many payments as you like.

R       As of January 1, 2007, Thrivent will no longer match contributions by associate members on the same basis it matches full members. At this point, we do not expect them to provide any matching for associate members this year.  However, the program has changed several times over the years, so there is a chance it could change next year.

Answers to Frequent Misconceptions about The GivingPlus Program:

R        Starting January 1, 2007, you must have to have an insurance policy or other financial product through Thrivent to use the GivingPlus program.  

R        You do not have to have children at Trinity School to participate in the program.  Any Thrivent  member can make contributions to the School.  Approximately 25% of contributions received by the Church go to directly support the School, so all members of Trinity already support the school.  It is just as easy to write the check to the School and add 50% to your contribution.

R        Making your Church contribution payable to the School instead of the Church counts toward your total contribution to the Church and can offset your pledge to the Church.  Contributions to the School are reflected on your contribution statement from the Church.

R        Any Thrivent member over age 16 can make contributions that will be matched, so each spouse (and any child over age 16) can make their own contributions that will be matched separately by  Thrivent.

R    If your employer offers a matching gift program, you can have your gift matched by BOTH your employer and Thrivent. What a great way to make your donation grow!

Interesting Matching Facts:

R        If just 100 Thrivent members gave the full amount matched by Thrivent to the School (in addition to or in lieu of their contribution to the Church), Thrivent would give an additional $30,000 to the School.  That’s the equivalent of 16 students’ tuition!

R        If another 100 Thrivent members wrote their check to the School and got the full match, Thrivent’s additional $30,000 would fund a whole teaching position!

R    You can choose to have your gift matched by both Thrivent and your employer, if your employer offers a matching program. Just submit both forms when you make your donation.
